BUY THE BOOK
Some years back an associate in what is arguably the premier Literary Agency in our country wrote;
Dear Kenneth,
I began reading your manuscript last night fully wanting to like it and represent you but the conclusion I have reached is that you may not seriously want to be published. I read the first 150 pages, skimmed the rest looking for your main points which would tie everything together. It seems apparent the book is some kind of catharsis for you and that you have the attitude "take it or leave it." This is not how books become best sellers.
I want to preface my discussion of your book with my firm opinion that you can write. In fact your first chapters were reminiscent of (here giving the name of an author and his "highly successful book" I never had heard of before) only, in my opinion, yours is better written and more interesting. You have a fine mastery of first person description and an interesting sense of humor. It seems to me you have been your worst barrier to having someone recognize your talent. ….
I am not interested in saving your soul. This is between you and God. I am interested in salvaging what I consider to be a good book with good potential which could help many people gain insight into their own struggles. ….
If you are willing to cooperate with me I will recommend to Jeff that we represent the book. There is no way a publisher will buy it in its present form. It is too detailed, convoluted (et cetera, et cetera, et cetera). It needs some serious editing, which would be done by the publishing house. ….
The dear lady then wrote two more full pages telling me what would have to be done to make my book more marketable. But my problem all along was that I could not abide having anyone telling me what would have to done with my book on a "take it or leave it" basis. Made a grandstand play which backfired on me, which is the reason I have not yet been published.
Great strides were made to follow her advice, and the editor of note who turned up through my earlier efforts to find one found he had little more to suggest then correcting my use of commas, colons and periods; or the lack thereof.
As soon as a LITERARY person OF NOTE is found who can package my book it will be available for purchase on this website, for the sum total delivered fee of $25.00. Best yet, if any one does not think he or she got his or her money's worth on one of the First Edition personalized hardbound copies they bought on my website, they will receive their $25.00 back, in full; if they return my book in tact as presented, with every word legible, as no penalty will be exacted for underlining or highlighting.
YourFirst Look @ Book will give my underlying motivation from day one.
My PROLOGUE will show you what you are in for.
It's as simple as that.
P.S. If you do not receive a confirmation within 48 hours, your e-mail did not arrive.
